Do
you do anything that will harm my photo?
No, we only work on a copy. We will either scan or photograph
your original. It receives minimal handling or exposure to light,
we don't do anything that will harm your photo.
I'm
concerned about mailing my photo...
We understand it can be traumatic, but if you package the photo
properly, see mailing information,
and send FedEx or with tracking, we can do a better job with the
original than without. It only needs to be done once, after that
you will have the negative or file for future prints. Alternatively
you can scan your photo and send us a high quality jpg file from
the online services page. Although
the quality will not be optimal with this type of file, if you
feel happier not mailing your original, we can certainly work
with it for you.
I
have plastic photo sleeves, are they archival quality?
The only way to tell for sure is to buy sleeves that are labeled
archival. You can't tell just by looking at them. If you are not
sure, buy new ones, to be on the safe side.
Are
the copy prints you make archival?
Digital prints are made on professional premium matte paper with
archival dyes. The manufacturer claims a lifetime, however these
should not be viewed as archival in the same sense as the black
and white photographic prints. When making photographic prints,
it is our specialzation to make quality black and white or sepia
toned prints on fiber based paper with carefully controlled processing.
If you take proper care of your archival, fiber prints, they can
last hundreds of years. It is always a good idea to have us make
a back up file on a CD.
Can
you make prints from old negatives?
Yes, from old B&W negatives we can either make true photographic
prints or scan the negatives and make digital prints. Old color
negatives we can scan and print if necessary, we do not however
make any direct TRUE color photographic prints, try your local
photo or camera store where you might go for regular prints, for
these.
What
is your privacy policy?
We are very concerned about preserving your privacy. We do not
pass on personal information to any third party in any way. Please
view our privacy policy page for detailed
information.
